What is a zine? (Pronouced "zeen") Zines are mainly D.I.Y. and the content may vary from person to person. I've read a zine about travels, zombie journal, just filled with photography, bringing up social change, passing information through this form. Zines are usually printed through photocopy machine and either distributed through distros or trading with other writers/zinesters. Zine history dates all the way back to the 1700s from people distributing social change and much more. Independent publishing has definitely evolved and in no way is going to stop circulating throughout other people's hands! more history on zines or check out Stolen Sharpie Revolution here. I know there are a lot more resources, I will put more up once I get a hold of more! What is a distro?  A distro is an independent distributor for zines and other D.I.Y. projects. There are online and mailorder distros. If you search online, you can find a ton of online ones. Who runs this?  Hello there, my name is Mae Undead. This distro has moved from San Jose to San Francisco. Woohoo! I have written several zines over the years. You're Insane Honey, Cerveauxxx, i know you're out there, My Mystery Girl, everyone has a summer and can you spot the pattern? are the big chunk of it. I got into zines in 2001 by my friend Joyous who ran Frenzy Distro. The first zine I read was by this couple who were both in different bands that toured together and talked about how much they loved each other and stuff. Even though I touch a lot of the relationship subject in my zines, I've found zines that really expanded my mind and had the amazing relating factor put into my heart and brain. I'm passionate for the zine world and try to support those who feel, well, unsupported. I started this distro in hopes to share of some of the other zines that are hardly put into the spotlight that are absolutely amazing. I still feel the same and hope it doesn't change. I like creating art, watching horror films, and dancing with my cousins and sister. Sometimes I get overzealous with other people's and my own projects but I don't find that necessarily bad. You're probably much more indie, punk, metal, beautiful and have more scene points than me and I have no problem with that. Get in touch so we can write letters!
