    Fail Monster by Ainsmar

This is Ainsmar's 24 hour comic. This is a story of a frog king in search of a new home for his spawnlings. While searching, he comes across Lawrence, a creature disguising himself as a human and living out a mudane lifestyle. I heart Ainsmar's humor. If you enjoy the interactions between two different species in a humorous and violent way, go check this out!

    Fruit Monster! by Ainsmar

Fruit Monster is a very sweet mini art zine. I can really feel the flavors of fruit every time I turn a page! Ainsley made this entire zine in full color so you can feel each of the fruits and maybe you can imagine yourself smelling its rich scent. Yum!

    Galatea's Pants #22 by Lauren

This issue deals a lot of the current politics and crisies of the moment. Lauren finished putting this zine out in 2008 so some of the topics that the articles cover is the 2008 elections, top five myths about Hugo Chavez, who is the President of Venezuela, "Keeping Santa Cruz White?" and some points on the financial crisis. Also information about and from the "Young and the Leftless" and how to be a good ally. You can really see the evolution of Lauren's personality, style and what she values with this zine. Although she shifted this zine from a personal zine to a political zine, you can tell that the zine is multi-faceted through her words and articles that are included.

    Get Bent! By Jonny Cunt

Jonny is fed up! He writes about his gripes with mainstream gay culture and he does it with such urgency and force.

excerpt: "Listen up gays. It doesn't take vanity and/or malice to be a femme. You think being a cunning manipulative bitch is powerful? Being a sassy young hot diva is strength? Sasha Fierceness, Britney Bitch, Lady Gaga attitude? You have it all don't you: money, sex & fashion. That's all you ever need right?

Guess what, here's a news flash. Rhianna still got beat up by her kid boyfriend, equal pay for women is still not a reality, & queer rights have been put on hold by our so-called knight in shining armor of a President. Prop 8 passed & every fucking romantic comedy you go drop 9$ for is about STRAIGHT PEOPLE. Your fierce bitch of a pop idol still sings about how her man must be this and that (rich&strong) for her, yet she still starves herself, smothers her face in make-up and injects her tits with silicon & her face with Botox to survive.
    "

He shares his inspiration to be feminists and queer theory. He calls out on others that rely heavily on beauty and shares a story on the effect of beauty standards on his own life especially in contrast with` the queer scene.

    Handmaiden's Voyage by Jen

This is Jen's first craft zine. Though there are only 20 pages, she shows you many things to do! From the table contents, you can make a greyhound pillow with recycable matieral, there is a amigurumi crotchet pattern for a mini octopus, another recycle craft tutorial to make an embroidery floss spoil, there is a pattern for cross stitch pattern for a beer can, a reciepe to make fish pockets, how to make a dog toy for your pup and last not but least a simple flower hair pin tutorial. I love the drawn squids Jen has throughout the zine. Very fun indeed!

I Have A Song For You by Bucket

These are stories that mix reality with fiction, there are moments where things are fabricated and dreamlike but that's what makes this zine so great. Bucket is a fantastic story teller with such a vivid detail and imagination infused into each story, that it's as though you too are experiencing what these people/Bucket are going through. My favorite one in particular is a story called, "Soft as Snow" which is about an object shaped as a marshmallow and it would morph and react to the current situation, comforting the protagonist during a break up. It is very mysterious and represents their relationship or lack of one. There are also several other stories, including letters to Bucket's friends, often talking about dreams which show her concern, hope, and a sense of no reservation for who is reading it, it is as though you've stumbled upon these letters because of how personal they are. All in all, this is a wonderful read and it's been a while since I've read such whimsical stories such as these.

excerpt: "I moved my feet back, but kept my face at the window until my breath fogged the window and then I moved my face back, too. The eye was dull and dark and human-sized and witnessed me not in the way that humans witness each other, but in the way that a predator witnesses it's prey.
I stepped up to the window again, but the eye had closed. I put my hand on the doorknob, and it turned, and I opened the door quietly and came in and closed it and crept through the room. The lump was asleep now, and snoring. I twas a small house, and from the living room I went into the back room. The back door was in front of me and to my right was a twin matress on the floor, and another lump.
"I can't sleep in the same bed with her," the second lump said.
I sat on the edge of the bed and reached out and touched the lump's foot.
He giggled and pulled his foot away and I returned my hand to my lap and my heart felt heavy.
Why is it that the things people haven't done can hurt more than the things they have? You can't fill twenty five years in a day, Ryan. The empty days will always be empty, and you are cold and the cold air pains your lungs and you can see your breath.
"I want to erase and start over."
    There's nothing to erase.

It's Not The End of the World!: building a life with limp wrists by ocean

Limp wrist woe! I can definitely relate. This zine is about carpal tunnel, tendonitis and how to keep your job from ruining your life. Ocean offers general advice for those with not so powerful wrists. She explains a little about carpal tunnel syndrome and some excercises to keep your wrists stretched for your job. What I love is that there are also certain excercises for a specific job like pizza delivery person (for those that use bikes), dishwasher, construction worker, cashier and even zinester! Ocean decorates the zine with appropriate hand/wrist anatomy pictures. This is a good intro to those who feel like they do have weak wrists.
